The Seawinds Community Hub is also the home for the Rosebud & District Men’s Shed which is part of the Morning Peninsula Men’s Shed Network. Housed in a large, purpose-built, working and social space the shed has been designed to provide a wide range of interests for members from all walks of life. It’s one of the best sheds in the region.
The Men’s Shed motto is: Fellowship with Purpose
Mission: To sustain and improve members’ health through social interaction and skill sharing while undertaking worthwhile projects to the benefit of members and the community.
Vision: To provide a multipurpose facility that provides both recreational and purposeful activities to men in the local community.
Value: Involving others
Men’s Shed at Seawinds Community Hub is open each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:30 to 3:00. Some members actively work on specific projects, others just come to meet up with friends. There’s a wealth of knowledge on hand that everyone can benefit from. The shed has facilities available for a large variety of activities, including woodwork, welding and metal work. Our members can also get involved with all things technical including The computers, 3D Printing, CNC wood working, Information Technology and Internet use. The men’s shed played a huge role in a Covid Computers program (for which Seawinds won an award) – they repurposed/repaired laptops and desktop computers which were donated by the local community and they were then circulated back into the community to help children during lockdown. They’re always happy to lend a hand to the local community.
Ray Atkinson, the President says: “We’re a team of friendly guys from all walks of life who have come together to share our experiences and help each other. If you have any special areas of expertise or would just like to come in for a coffee, game of darts or pool or just a friendly chat. You’ll be made to feel very welcome.”
