At Seawinds we go out of our way to make sure there’s something for everyone.

Perhaps you are interested in doing a craft or improving your technology skills.  Maybe it’s Family History you’re keen on or doing an art class check out our program and come and meet some new people.  It’s all about connecting with others and having fun.

In Term 2 we are excited to bring to you a range of programs to learn a new skill, keep you entertained and most of all have some fun

COMMUNITY LUNCH is back on the menu every Wednesday
2 course meal $8
We are so pleased that we can welcome back our community guests for community lunch every Wednesday!  If you’d like to join us too, please contact us prior, as spots are limited.  Join us from 12.30pm.  $8 per head for a scrumptious nutritious two-course meal.   Thanks to Helen for helping us get this important event underway!

JAPANESE FABRIC FLOWER WORKSHOP
16 June; 6-7:30pm
$20 pp (all jewellery materials included)
In this Japanese Fabric Flower Jewellery workshop, Vivian Qiu will show you how to make clover flowers that never die and design jewellery for daily wear or special occasions.  We’ll introduce fabric flowers in haute couture and home decoration.
You’ll learn fabric petal shaping, twisting and assembling.

What you will learn:
-An introduction of application of fabric flowers in haute couture and home decoration
-Demonstration of special fabric treatment with a resin glue
-Fabric petal shaping and twisting technique
-Jewellery making technique with fabric flowers

CPR AND FIRST AID TRAINING
Now is a good time to learn or refresh your CPR and First Aid Skills.

Come and join us at Seawinds Community Hub for a hands-on training event. You just never know when you may need to use them.  Our courses cover a range of topics to enable you to confidently manage first aid situations and apply life-saving skills for adults and children.

LEADLIGHTING WORKSHOP
Continues Term 3
$20 per person (excluding materials)
This program will provide those attending an opportunity to learn the basics of lead lighting. The trainer will be John, a member of the men’s shed and has many years’ experience with lead light. Attendees will learn the basics including safety when working with glass and using the tools required. They will design a leadlight project and learn how to use the tools and equipment required.

MOSIAC WORKSHOP
Continues Term 3
$20 pp (excludes materials) Morning tea included
This is a workshop where attendees will learn basic mosaic skills. Mosaic is a creative, mindful, therapeutic art form and is a joy to experience. In this fun and hands on class attendees will learn how to make a mosaic from start to finish. They will get creative working with a range of materials, adhesives, substrates, tiles, and grouts that are used for indoor/outdoor mosaics, as well as learning how to cut glass using mosaic cutters, free hand scorers and a glass cutting system.
